Commute Death Benefit

The unpaid balance of a death benefit (LC 4702) is a fixed stream at the weekly rate, commuted at 3% ignoring the beneficiary's probability of death (LC 5101(b)) — Table 1, extended past its 950-week end on the same basis. Optionally adds the LC 4703.5 continuation for totally dependent minor children: after the basic benefit runs out, payments continue at the TD rate (minimum $224) until the youngest child turns 18 (19 for a qualifying public-safety survivor still in high school).
